So Germans DO Make Mistakes In Everyday Life

Why'd it have to be Dirk? That's what I keep asking myself.

Of all the thugs and supreme narcissists in the NBA who run around impregnating women like they're going to get some yogurt, why did the quiet and intensely private German have to get nailed by the con-artist when apparently all he wants is the aliment of a loving relationship?

Dirk Nowitzki is a super basketball player and a seemingly intelligent human being. He's not out late at clubs and he doesn't get photographed with his face in a hooker's boobs while throwing piles of money in the air. The worst you will find on Dirk are some pics where he's tasted a bit too much barley and hops.

Yet here he is getting taken through the ringer because of some fraud woman. It's hard to figure out exactly what's going on because Dirk refuses to address the situation publicly. All he'll say is "It's pretty obvious that I'm going through a tough time in my personal life right now, like I always have, I want to kind of keep my private life private."

What we do know:

-Some woman named Cristal Taylor was arrested at Nowitzki's Dallas home on Wednesday as the Mavs flew back from another butt kicking courtesy of the Denver Nuggets.

-The woman claims to be Dirk's girl and that he got her all pregged up. No one has confirmed or denied the pregnancy yet. There is also talk that the two were at one point engaged.

-Taylor has a past that's checkered at best including multiple aliases, forged checks, and sudden disappearances when people questioned her.

-Dirk is a freakin NBA star and could get a girlfriend who is much better looking and has one identity.

There is speculation that Dirk himself grew suspicious when some of the Taylor's stories didn't check out. He knew she had a past with the law, but she apparently told him it was all settled and was no big deal. Dirk found out about that something wasn't right and arranged for her to be taken by law officers while he was away.

There is also talk that another woman who is a "friend" of Taylor's might also be involved in an elaborate scheme on Dirk. But again, speculation because Dirk won't talk. And why should need to? It's his life.

So, this story teaches us that:

A.) As rich as athletes are, there are always people preying on them to get that quick money through legitimate or illegitimate means.

B.) Dirk is just not good with relationships. I mean he got the cold shoulder from a trophy, people.
